As much as we started as a pet-tribute brand, we see that our ultimate goal is to be an irreplaceable creative in the space. That requires some level of novelty, uniqueness and overall enjoyability not scene in both pets and creative industry as a whole.
Pets
Pets tend to be the same. Maybe different breeds may have their quirks, but these quirks are sometimes shared across breeds. Technically, that’s mostly what alot of pet owners look out for since that likely feels closest to their pets and their behaviour. Soon though, we kind of ran out of “unique” themes, and we weren’t as passionate regarding the remaining themes.
So… how do we keep going if accuracy to pets can get you so far?
Kenzo the Shiba
We noticed we give a voice to Kenzo. Like, perhaps he likes to “talk” to us and have hooman-like sassy and stubborn traits. So why not, expand the creative limit beyond just pet-traits to “What if my pet wants to be an astronaut?” for example. We almost forgot that imagination exists lol! No one’s really stopping us from creating a fantasy world.
So how do we create creative fantansies whilst still maintaining some form of culturally-relevant accuracies and not turning pets into mythical creatures altogether? We’re still asking ourselves this question everyday, trying to draw inspiration from macro trends to every-day little happenings at a random coffee shop or dog park
We love Food, We love Dog, Food X Dog
For now, we’re journeying down this path of merging various food cuisines and pets in a tasteful way. Not like pet birds and KFC, but like Dim Sum, Pizza and Bingsu!
