Dollop reached out to us a month in March, about a month before we officially launched the photostrips. We were super excited! This was especially timely as we chanced upon Dollop while we were boothing at Hallyucon 2026 around February.
Given this was March, it was leading up to the start of Pet Expo 3-5 April as well as Art Box 2-5 April + 10-12 April. We were initially aprehensive
The process
We first agreed to the idea of collabing, led to some back and forth on the details. Typically dollop collabs involve a giveaway of a few photo booth sessions alongside an announcement or two from artist and dollop regarding the limited-time-only photo strips.

Lessons we learnt
- You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!
Despite conflicting priorities, we realised for our long term brand growth, it was inevitable more of such opportunities would come by and thus we’ll have to manage our time better to accomodate for such external deals. Sometimes as founders we may have some preconceived notions of how certain things would turn out, but this experience better taught us how to keep an open mind and embrace the good and not-so-good outcomes as learning points for future decision making.
- Working together is a two-way street
We believe us taking initiative proposing
- Adapting to circumstances
We were already working on our floofybutts pyjamas designs which were still in active iteration stage. Instead of having to create a new set of designs or digging up old designs, we turned this collab into an opportunity to better market our Floofy PJs better! Thus minimising unnecessary effort while maximising reward for both parties, a win-win!
If you’re still here, thank you for reading all the way through! More self-reflections and founder journies in time to come!
Pssst…another photobooth-related announcement incoming wink
